World Arduino Day - 27th March 2021

Auckland Council and the Tech Shed is organising a FREE community event on the 27th of March 2021 at Te Manawa Library -

11 Kohuhu Lane, Westgate, Auckland.

Arduino Day is a worldwide birthday celebration of Arduino. It brings people in the community together to share their experiences and give the opportunity to learn more about the open-source education platform. In 2020, more than 400 events were held by members of the Arduino community online and in more than 90 countries.

The ‘World Arduino day’ is an event aimed at inspiring our community about latest digital technologies such as Arduino with a broad focus on principles of STEM subjects.

This beginners workshop would provide the participants with a hands-on Arduino learning experience by building a real world IOT project. The workshop will also introduce participants to an online platform called MIT App Inventor in order to make a custom Android app. This Android app would then be used to demonstrate IOT automation using Arduino to remotely control an LED Light, activate an Alarm/Buzzer and receive information of remote events such as temperature. The session would close with a discussion about Arduino and its uses in robotics projects followed by a brief demo.
